How are our anodes used?
Our anodes are mostly used in chrome plating. The object to be plated is dipped into a bath of liquid chromium that is equipped with an anode. When a current is conducted from the anode to the object to be plated, chromium adheres to the object’s surface. The anode acts as a positive electrode, while the object to be plated acts as the negative electrode, or cathode.
What’s the difference between styles of anodes?
The shape, size, composition, and surface of an anode all affect how it distributes current. For example, anodes with ribbed or rippled surfaces have greater surface than smooth anodes, which allows for greater distribution of current. This translates into efficiencies, as plating can be accomplished with increased speed and reduced current requirements.
